John fixed my bad hip in a single treatment.  He also has done wonders to help my back and neck.  I have a desk job, but like to be highly active and mobility and function is important to me.  John’s dedication to learning and teaching is evident in the way he interacts with people.  You can see him passing on knowledge to his team and to his patients.

“I’m continuously amazed at how many people are not aware of the connections between one’s body and mind. We often take better care of our cars than our bodies. As an educator, I feel compelled to explain how pain is not bad. It is something we need to respect and explore what it means to our body. By taking an all-encompassing holistic approach to health and wellness, I help my clients restore their body back to its optimal balance in body and mind. I’ve seen how people are disconnected and unaware of their body function. I want to help them connect again.”

John’s natural tendency to care and help others in attaining optimal health, along with his commitment as a competitive athlete looking to improve his performance, are two of the reasons why John is a Registered Massage Therapist today.

To ensure he provides patients with the highest quality and standards of care, John is continually furthering his education to learn more massage techniques in the areas of osteopathic manual therapy, sport therapy, and rehabilitation. John has been in private practice since 1999 and has worked with the Massage Therapists Association of BC to develop and enhance the profession, as well as national, international, and community sporting groups and events.

A dedicated family man and husband, John finds his career as a RMT one of the most rewarding experiences in his life. He is honored to earn his client’s trust and to help them overcome physical limitations to improve their quality of life, work, and play.

Langley Performance Mobility TrainingWithin a week of applying Alysha’s KinStretch techniques I was performing better at my ball hockey.  I play twice a week and haven’t played forward in years.

After some manual therapy and some brilliant exercises, my joints were moving more freely and I was far more confident in my ability to make quick moves so I tried playing forward – it worked!  Now I’m taking KinStretch as well and seeing further results.

I have participated in organized exercise classes all my aldult life because I had a sit down office job – and also because I was an avid hiker; going up to the mountains and loving the BC outdoors! Now, as I am aging, Alysha’s class is keeping me mobile and active – so that I can still enjoy the outdoors, by walking, birding as much as possible. I have a pelvic conditions that Alysha helps me strengthen. Thanks for keeping me going, Alysha! — Anne, Finish Strong Participant

Surrey Rehabilitation TherapyAlysha is a lifesaver!!!  I encountered a proximal humerus (shoulder) fracture from a rough ski accident this past winter. I was faced with 6 weeks of ZERO shoulder mobility to allow the bone to heal in the correct position.

After the 6 weeks my orthopaedic specialist told me to go ahead and start moving my shoulder again. But after that much time of immobility, I couldn’t move an inch and was given no guidance as to where to start. Without Alysha’s help, I would have had no idea how to begin re-gaining mobility.

She gave me a series of exercises and movements to work through and we re-assessed every week or two to adjust the program as needed.
After only 2 weeks I experienced an unimaginable increase in mobility and I was optimistic about a quick, full recovery! Alysha coached me from zero mobility to the ability to lift my arm overhead within 9 weeks!! And after only 3 months I’m back to doing everything I love (including rock climbing and yoga!!) 100% pain free! — Kendra, Personal Training Client

“Range of motion matters.  Most of us have no idea how our bodies are supposed to move and what we’re actually capable of.  When I get to work with seniors and help transform their lives by being able to walk up stairs without pain or holding a hand rail, or bend down to pick up their grandkids without struggles.  Or when I get to train someone with a broken shoulder back to near full range of motion in 60 days.  Or when I see everyday athletes enjoying their activities to the fullest — that’s when I smile biggest.”

Alysha delivers our KinStretch programming – a program she used herself to get results like you see in the photo to the right.  Alysha is our head programmer, responsible for training Kinesiologists on the Body Smart Way.
